The Expedia Traveler Preference program, which enables travelers to pay for hotel stays at the hotel at the end of their stay, boosted bookings at participating U.S. hotels by about 10%, Expedia said.
Expedia said that for the more than 3,700 U.S. hotels that chose to join the program, bookings were 10% higher during the month after it went into effect than during the month prior.
About half the bookings for U.S. hotels were still paid for in advance on Expedia's website, with the other half paid at the hotel.
Expedia introduced the program in summer 2012.
