Berlin-based Triposo released updated mobile travel guides for iOS a little over a month ago, serving up information and maps for more than 8,000 destinations globally, including 5,000 small towns across America.
Created by ex-Googlers, and with three million downloads already under its belt, Triposo has rolled out another big update to its mobile app, geared towards helping you travel like a local. With the latest update, Triposo gives travelers access to events that are happening nearby, right now, and includes last-minute hotel rooms and tips on what to eat.
Triposo Events, for example, trawls public events from Facebook and other sources based on your location, and could include anything from salsa lessons to any number of recently-launched local shindigs.
So, if you want to see some local culture, such as a one-time art show, then Triposo Events gets on the case for you. Additional new features include updated phrase books, guides to animals of the region and major works of art.
