Hotelbeds, one of TUI Travel PLC’s leading business to business brands, and an international accommodation wholesaler, today unveiled its five-year growth plans on the first day of London’s annual World Travel Market.

As Hotelbeds celebrates its 10 year anniversary and growth from a local to global business it also announced significant investment and expansion plans with:

- Expansion in the source markets and destinations of the Americas and Asia.
- Maintaining and growing the home markets in Europe, particularly in the Eastern European countries.
- The creation of more jobs by increasing the Hotelbeds workforce by 18% across the world over the next five years.
- Further investment in I.T. with an increase of 43% in I.T. spend over the next five years.

Online accommodation is one of the fast-growing segments of the travel industry, and is forecast to continue to grow by 8%, according to Euromonitor. Hotelbeds has been outperforming this rising market and experiencing double-digit growth over the past decade. It is therefore well placed to now invest and become a premier player in this segment. The last year saw 11 million room nights sold and 24% growth of total transaction values. This year saw 14 million roomnights sold and total transaction values are forecast to grow by 25%.
